The Zeppelin Bend (also known as the Rosendahl Bend)

The Zeppelin knot actually consists of two simple knots. It is considered very reliable, does not get tangled and does not slip, and also unties well if necessary. It was once used for fixing and belaying airships.

1. Fold the two ropes in parallel and bend slightly.

2. Make a closed loop with the top rope.

3. Circle the running end of two ropes and pass it through the loop.

4. Pull the root part of the second rope to its running end.

5. Carry the running end of the second rope under its root part and pull it through the formed loop. Pull on the running ends of both ropes, and then on the root parts to secure the knot.
