With the help of the "butterfly" method, laces can be lengthened, because a minimum of holes is used. Laces must intersect from above and lie vertically from the inside.
1. Thread the lace through the bottom holes from the bottom up.
2. Slide the right end of the shoelace from top to bottom into the second bottom hole on the right, then from bottom to top into the third on the left.
3. Also stretch the left end.
4. Thread the right end from top to bottom into the fourth bottom hole on the right and from bottom to top into the fifth on the left.
5. Insert the left end of the shoelace in the same way.
