A double simple knot is one of the most popular basic knots. It is often used as a locking knot, and is also tied at the ends of the cables to prevent unwinding. The double simple knot does not tighten much, and it is easy to untie. This is an important component of many more complex knots.
1. Tie a simple knot, but do not tighten. Then once again pass the end of the rope through the resulting loop.
2. Gently pull the ends of the rope. A diagonal wrap should appear in front. Pull the ends again to secure the knot.
