An oak knot is used when there is a need to quickly tie two ropes. It is considered quite reliable, but has one serious drawback - it is very difficult to untie, especially if it gets wet. It is not suitable for binding synthetic cords and scaffolding.
1. Put two ropes parallel to each other and make a loop, as for a simple knot.
2. Tie a simple knot, making sure that the ends are parallel to each other all the time.
