A half grapevine or compressible knot is a double simple knot tied around an object. It is often used to prevent unwinding of rolled drawings, wallpaper, etc. In addition, in mountaineering, the half grapevine is considered a reliable control knot at the end of the rope.
1. Make a double simple knot, but do not tighten it.
2. Insert into the two formed loops the object on which you need to fasten the rope. Then pull the ends and secure the knot.
